A bit of background on my setup. I have a couple of IBM x3650 M3’s and a ktn-stl3 disk-shelf that all this runs on in the basement. The primary server is setup like this:
- IBM M3 (Dual x5650 and 98 GB RAM)
- =>Proxmox
- =>pFSense
- Firewall and NAT for webservers, reverse proxy, SIP phone, etc
- all LAN traffic goes through here to the outside world with pfBlockerNG to block ads on the network
- =>FreeNAS
- =>NextCloud Jail (points to dataset on Main pool for storage)
- =>BSD Jail
- =>Plex Jail
- =>MineOS Jail
- =>Transmission Jail (for OSS, honestly Guv…)
- <=VM Pool, NFS Share (6 mirrored pairs of SAS drives) for VMs and Jails (above)
- <=Main Pool, SMB Share for FileServer (RaidZ2 of 6 2TB SATA drives
- <=Backup pool (mirrored 4TB SATA drives)
- <=Media pool (Raidz2 600GB SAS drives)
- =>LXC Caddy, reverse proxy for websites (NextCloud, WordPress, etc)
- =>LXC WordPress
- =>VillageGreen.org.nz
- =>BuggerMe.org.nz (also .co.nz)
- =>Fryett.net (yet to be deployed)
- =>TrueCommand (to manage FreeNAS and FreeNAS_testing)
- =>
Windows 10(moved to test server) - =>Several Linux Distro’s and or LXCs
The Test box also runs proxmox and will normally have FreeNAS-nightly, a BSD, several Linux Distro’s and what ever else I’m playing with that I don’t want on the main box, including Windows 10.
